Esrum

Esrum is a village located in North Zealand, Denmark. It is situated near the town of Hillerød and is known for its proximity to the Esrum Lake (Esrum Sø), which is the second-largest lake in Denmark. The village itself is relatively small, with a population of a few hundred people.

Historically, Esrum has been associated with the Esrum Abbey, a former Cistercian monastery founded in 1151. Although the abbey no longer exists in its original form, its legacy is still present in the area. The ruins and associated buildings, including the abbey mill, are a significant historical landmark.
