Esperase is a fictional constructed language used in science fiction and fantasy media. Within those works, it functions as the native tongue of several civilizations and has been expanded by creators and fan communities.

Linguistic features include an agglutinative morphology and a base SVO order, with flexible word order for emphasis. Verbs encode tense and aspect through suffixes; nouns mark case and number. Pronouns indicate evidential stance and speaker perspective, contributing to in-universe discourse patters.

Phonology is designed for learnability, with a modest consonant inventory (p, t, k, f, s, l, m, n, h) and five vowels. The writing system uses a Latin alphabet with a small set of diacritics to mark vowel quality and stress in some dialects, and occasional stylistic variants appear in fictional artifacts.

Origin and development: Esperase was introduced in the early 2000s as part of a broader worldbuilding project and was subsequently refined by multiple authors and fans, leading to published grammars and lexicons in the fan community.

In-universe usage includes ceremonial, poetic, and inter-cultural communication functions, while fan communities publish dictionaries, grammars, and learning guides. Reception among scholars is limited since it remains a fictional construct, though it is noted for its approachable design and clear documentation, which have aided both casual readers and aspiring conlang creators.
