Espanyol

Espanyol is the Catalan word meaning Spanish. It is used in Catalonia to refer to things associated with Spain or with the Spanish language, sometimes alongside castellà to denote the Castilian language. The form espanyol is masculine; espanyola is feminine.

RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, commonly known as Espanyol, is a Spanish professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Founded in 1900 as Sociedad Española de Football, it later adopted its current name, and is one of the oldest clubs in Spain. The club plays its home matches at RCDE Stadium in Cornellà de Llobregat, with a capacity around 40,000; the team wears blue and white.
