Eryri
Eryri, known in English as Snowdonia, is a mountainous region in north-west Wales. Its Welsh name is used locally to refer to the same area that is administered as Snowdonia National Park. The park lies mainly in Gwynedd and comprises rugged mountains, glacial valleys, and lakes, including the peak Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), at 1,085 metres, the highest point in Wales and England. The landscape was shaped by glaciation during the last Ice Age and supports a range of habitats from heath to broadleaved woodlands.
Snowdonia National Park was established in 1951 and covers a large area of roughly 2,130 square kilometres.

Historically, the region has an industrial heritage, most notably slate quarrying around Blaenau Ffestiniog, with remnants
