Eriomadus

Eriomadus is a genus of small to medium-sized dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 75 million years ago. The genus is known from a single species, Eriomadus navajovius, which was discovered in the Navajo Sandstone of Arizona, USA. The name Eriomadus means "Navajo devil," reflecting the dinosaur's association with the Navajo people and their cultural significance.

Eriomadus is classified as a theropod dinosaur, a group that includes birds and their non-avian relatives. It is estimated to have been about 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) long and weighed around 15 kilograms (33 pounds). The dinosaur is known from a partial skeleton, including elements of the skull, vertebrae, ribs, and limb bones. Its most distinctive feature is a large, sickle-shaped claw on its second toe, which is believed to have been used for defense or predation.

The discovery of Eriomadus has provided valuable insights into the diversity and evolution of Late Cretaceous theropods. Its unique claw and other anatomical features suggest that it may have had a specialized niche within its ecosystem.
