Eremkové
Eremkové, also known as eremkovy, are a type of traditional Slovak pastry. They are small, round, and slightly flattened cakes, typically made from a simple dough consisting of flour, sugar, eggs, and sometimes a bit of butter or oil. The dough is rolled out thinly and then cut into small circles, which are then baked until golden brown. Eremkové are often dusted with powdered sugar or icing sugar before serving, which gives them a sweet and crumbly texture. They are a popular treat in Slovakia and are often enjoyed as a dessert or a snack. The name "eremkové" is derived from the Slovak word "erem", which means "small" or "tiny", reflecting the size of these pastries. Eremkové are typically served warm, but they can also be enjoyed at room temperature. They are a staple in Slovak cuisine and are often found in bakeries and cafes throughout the country.
