Epicteto
Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave at Hierapolis in Phrygia, in what is now Turkey, and lived in Rome until his banishment, after which he taught in Nicopolis in Greece. His teachings have been preserved in the form of lecture notes compiled by his student Arrian in two works: the Discourses and the Enchiridion.
