Epehajtási

Epehajtási refers to the process of removing gallstones from the gallbladder. Gallstones, also known as cholelithiasis, are hardened deposits that can form in the gallbladder, a small organ located beneath the liver. These stones can range in size from a grain of sand to a golf ball.

The symptoms associated with gallstones can vary widely. Some individuals may experience no symptoms at all, while others might suffer from intermittent or chronic pain in the upper right abdomen, often referred to as biliary colic. This pain can be triggered by fatty meals and may radiate to the back or shoulder. Other symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and jaundice if a gallstone obstructs the bile duct.

The primary treatment for symptomatic gallstones is usually a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. This procedure is most commonly performed laparoscopically, a minimally invasive technique that involves small incisions and a camera. In some cases, an open surgery may be necessary. While the gallbladder serves a function in storing bile, its removal does not typically cause significant long-term health problems, as bile can still be released directly from the liver into the small intestine. Non-surgical options are sometimes considered for certain types of gallstones or for patients who are not suitable candidates for surgery, but surgical removal remains the most effective treatment for most symptomatic cases.
