Envigado

Envigado is a city and municipality in the Antioquia Department, Colombia. It is part of the Medellín metropolitan area and lies in the Aburrá Valley, just southeast of Medellín. It borders Medellín to the north and northwest, Itagüí to the west, La Estrella to the south, and Sabaneta to the southeast.

The town originated as a rural settlement during the colonial era and began to grow rapidly in the 20th century as Medellín expanded. Today it is a densely populated suburb with a historic downtown and a mix of traditional houses and modern development.

The economy is primarily service-oriented, with commerce, retail, and small-scale manufacturing. Envigado hosts numerous neighborhood commercial districts, shopping centers, and markets that serve residents of the city and the surrounding area.
