Energiayksikkönä isä Finnish-language term used in technical and policy discussions to refer to energy being expressed as a unit of measurement. It does not denote a single specific unit, but rather the practice or context in which energy quantities are stated in energy units. The phrase highlights that the focus is on the amount of energy contained or delivered, rather than on other aspects such as power rate or monetary value.

In the International System of Units (SI), the joule is the standard unit of energy, with common larger submultiples such as kilojoule (kJ) and megajoule (MJ). The most widely used unit for everyday energy reporting is the kilowatt-hour (kWh), where 1 kWh equals 3.6 million joules. For microscopic scales, the electronvolt (eV) is used, with 1 eV equal to 1.602×10^-19 joules. Some contexts also employ British thermal units (BTU) or other non-SI units for historical or regional reasons. When energy is expressed as energy, rather than as a rate, these conversions enable direct comparisons across fuels, devices, and processes.

Using energiayksikkönä facilitates comparing the energy content or energy delivery of different sources and end-uses. It is common in household energy reporting, energy policy, and engineering analyses to present figures in kWh or joules to emphasize total energy rather than instantaneous power.
