Energiamäärät

Energiamäärät refers to quantities of energy. In physics, energy is a fundamental property of matter and a measure of its capacity to do work. It exists in various forms, including kinetic energy (energy of motion), potential energy (stored energy due to position or state), thermal energy (heat), chemical energy, electrical energy, and nuclear energy.

A calorie is often used in chemistry and biology to measure heat energy, while a kilowatt-hour is commonly used to measure electrical energy consumption.

The principle of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another. This means that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant. For example, when a ball falls, its potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. Similarly, in a power plant, chemical or nuclear energy is converted into thermal energy, which then generates electrical energy.
