Endgruppen, a term derived from German meaning "end groups," refers to the terminal units of a polymer chain. These functional groups are located at the extremities of the macromolecule and can significantly influence the polymer's physical and chemical properties. The nature of the end group is determined by the polymerization mechanism and the specific monomers and initiators used.
