Endepunkt

Endepunkt is a term used in Norwegian, Danish and Swedish to denote a terminus or boundary point. In general usage it can refer to a final point of something—a point where an activity ends, a destination, or a limit.

In geometry, an endpoint is one of the two points that bound a line segment; a segment has two endpoints. A ray has one endpoint and extends infinitely in one direction; a curve may have zero, one, or two endpoints depending on whether it is closed, open, or a path.

In computing and networking, an endpoint is a device or process that communicates with another in a network, or a specific URL or address that exposes a service—the API endpoint. Endpoints are secured by authentication and encryption and are subject to design considerations such as reliability and scalability.

In medicine and clinical research, an endpoint is a measurement used to assess the effect of an intervention. Primary endpoints determine the main outcome, while secondary and composite endpoints capture additional effects such as survival, symptoms, or quality of life.
