The EmscherLippe region is a geographical and administrative area located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is situated in the northern Ruhr area and is characterized by its industrial past, particularly coal mining and heavy industry. The region encompasses several cities and municipalities, including Bottrop, Castrop-Rauxel, Datteln, Dorsten, Gladbeck, Haltern am See, Herten, Marl, Oer-Erkenschwick, Recklinghausen, and Waltrop.
