Empirischstatistische
Empirischstatistische is a German compound adjective formed from empirisch (empirical) and statistische (statistical). It describes analyses, methods, and findings that rest on observed data and statistical techniques, rather than on purely theoretical constructs. In standard orthography, the form is often written with a hyphen as empirisch-statistische, but the unhyphenated version empirischstatistische appears in titles or variable names.
In German-speaking academia, the term is used to distinguish empirical-statistical work from theoretical-statistical or mathematical statistics.
