Emision

Emision refers to the act of emitting or the thing emitted. The term is used across fields to describe the release of energy, matter, signals, or financial instruments. It derives from Latin emittere, "to send out."

In physics and chemistry, emission means the release of energy or particles by a source. Examples include thermal radiation from a hot body, photon emission in atomic transitions, and electron emission in vacuum devices. Emission can be spontaneous or stimulated, the latter enabling lasers and masers.

Environmental emissions are releases of pollutants or greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Emission inventories quantify sources such as transport, industry, and agriculture. Policy tools include emission standards, carbon pricing, and cap-and-trade systems to reduce atmospheric concentrations of CO2, methane, nitrous oxide, and others.

Broadcasting and communications use emission to denote a transmitted signal. An emission is a radiated electromagnetic signal from a transmitter, such as radio, television, or satellite links. Spectrum management and technical standards regulate the rate and band of emission.

In finance, emission (emisión) refers to the issuing of securities, currency, or credit instruments. Governments and corporations issue bonds, stocks, or banknotes to raise capital or manage liquidity. In Spanish-speaking contexts, emisión is commonly used for bond or stock issuance and public debt.
