Embriogenezje

Embriogenezje refers to the process of embryonic development, encompassing the stages from fertilization to the formation of a recognizable embryo. This complex biological journey begins with the fusion of a sperm and an egg, forming a zygote. The zygote then undergoes rapid cell division, a process known as cleavage, increasing the number of cells without a significant increase in overall size.

Following cleavage, the developing mass of cells, now called a blastula, differentiates into distinct layers. In many animals, this involves the formation of the gastrula, characterized by the establishment of germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. These germ layers are the precursors to all tissues and organs in the body.

The subsequent phase, organogenesis, is where these germ layers develop into specific structures. The ectoderm gives rise to the nervous system and epidermis, the mesoderm forms muscles, bones, and the circulatory system, and the endoderm develops into the digestive and respiratory tracts. Throughout embriogenezje, a precise sequence of genetic and molecular signals orchestrates cell migration, differentiation, and morphogenesis, ensuring the organized development of a complete organism. The duration and specific events of embriogenezje vary significantly across different species, reflecting their evolutionary histories and reproductive strategies.
