Eläketurvakeskusesta

Eläketurvakeskus, often abbreviated as ETK, is a central institution in the Finnish social security system. It operates as a development and service center for the earnings-related pension system. ETK's primary role is to promote the development of the Finnish pension scheme, ensure its smooth functioning, and provide expert services to pension providers and authorities. It is not a direct pension insurer but rather a key player in the backend operations and strategic planning of the system.

ETK is responsible for tasks such as maintaining the earnings-related pension register, developing pension statistics, and providing information and guidance on pension matters to various stakeholders, including employers, employees, and the public. It also plays a role in developing pension legislation and ensuring the solvency and efficiency of the pension system. The organization collaborates closely with other pension institutions, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and international bodies. Its work aims to guarantee a fair and sustainable pension system for all Finnish residents.
