Elektroneutraalien

Elektroneutraalien refers to a state of electrical neutrality. In chemistry and physics, an elektroneutraalen entity, such as an atom or a molecule, possesses an equal number of positively charged protons and negatively charged electrons. This balance results in no net electrical charge for the entity. For example, a neutral atom of any element has the same number of protons in its nucleus as electrons orbiting it.

When an atom or molecule gains or loses electrons, it becomes electrically charged, forming an ion. A positively charged ion, called a cation, has more protons than electrons. Conversely, a negatively charged ion, known as an anion, has more electrons than protons. Therefore, an elektroneutraalen species is distinct from an ion.

In macroscopic contexts, a bulk material is described as elektroneutraalen if the total positive charge within it is equal to the total negative charge. This is the typical state for most matter under normal conditions.
