Elektrilämmuvust, often translated as electric shock or electrocution, refers to the physiological reaction that occurs when a living organism comes into contact with an electric current. The severity of the effects depends on several factors, including the voltage, current intensity, duration of contact, and the path the current takes through the body.

When an electric current passes through the body, it can disrupt normal bodily functions. Low-level currents may cause minor discomfort, tingling sensations, or involuntary muscle contractions.
