Electronreiche

Electronreiche is a term used in theoretical chemistry to describe atoms or molecules that possess an unusually high electron density. This elevated electron density can arise from various factors, including the presence of electronegative atoms that donate electron density to other parts of the molecule, resonance structures that delocalize negative charge, or the incorporation of lone pairs of electrons.

The concept of electronreiche is important for understanding chemical reactivity. Regions of high electron density are typically susceptible to electrophilic attack, meaning they are attractive to species that are electron-deficient. Conversely, electronreiche species may act as nucleophiles, donating their excess electrons to form new chemical bonds.
