Electronektiota

Electronektiota is a term that appears in some chemical literature to describe the tendency of an atom within a molecule to attract electrons toward itself during bond formation. The concept is closely related to electronegativity, but its usage varies by source. In mainstream chemistry, electronegativity is defined on established scales and used to predict bond polarity and reactivity. Electronektiota, by contrast, is found mainly in certain Estonian- and Baltic-language texts and in some theoretical discussions as either a synonym or a qualitative surrogate for electronegativity.
