Eldanese refers to a fictional language created by the American author L. Sprague de Camp for use in his fantasy novels, particularly those set in the *Mythopoeic Universe*. The language is designed to resemble an ancient, possibly Elvish-inspired tongue, and is used to convey the names and phrases of mythical beings and places within de Camp’s works.

De Camp developed Eldanese as part of his broader linguistic and mythological projects, drawing inspiration from real-world languages like Latin and Sanskrit, as well as the constructed languages of J.R.R.
