Ekadasis
Ekadasis refers to the eleventh day of the lunar fortnight in the Hindu lunisolar calendar. There are two Ekadasis in each month, one during the waxing moon (Shukla Paksha) and one during the waning moon (Krishna Paksha). These days are considered auspicious and are often observed with fasting by devotees. The observance of Ekadasi is believed to be very purifying and is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu, who is considered the preserver and protector of the universe in Hinduism.
