EXD2
EXD2, or Exonuclease 3'-5' domain containing 2, is a protein encoded by the EXD2 gene in humans. It is part of a small family of eukaryotic exonucleases that harbor a 3'-5' exonuclease domain related to the DnaQ-like superfamily. The protein is evolutionarily conserved across vertebrates, with orthologs in other species, suggesting a fundamental role in nucleic acid metabolism.
The precise biological function of EXD2 is not fully established. Experimental studies have implicated EXD2 in
Expression of EXD2 is detected in a broad range of human tissues, consistent with a general role
Clinical significance for EXD2 remains to be clarified. No common disease-causing mutations have been definitively linked
