EUCopernicus

EUCopernicus is a European Union (EU) initiative aimed at creating a comprehensive, up-to-date, and freely accessible land monitoring service. The project is named after Nicolaus Copernicus, the Polish astronomer who formulated the heliocentric model of the universe. The EUCopernicus program is managed by the European Commission in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The core of EUCopernicus is the Sentinel family of satellites, which provide a wealth of data on various aspects of the Earth's environment. These include monitoring of land surfaces, oceans, and the atmosphere.
