EPALpallet

EPAL stands for European Pallet Association. An EPAL pallet, also known as a Euro pallet, is a standardized wooden pallet designed for the European market. It is a reusable transport and storage structure that is widely used for shipping goods. The EPAL pallet has specific dimensions of 1200 mm x 800 mm, which is half the size of a standard US pallet. This standardized size facilitates efficient handling, stacking, and transportation across Europe's logistics networks.

EPAL pallets are constructed from solid wood, typically pine or spruce, and are assembled with specific nail patterns. They are designed to be robust and capable of carrying significant loads, with a standard load capacity of 1500 kg. A key feature of EPAL pallets is their interchangeability. This means that any EPAL pallet can be replaced by another EPAL pallet, regardless of the manufacturer. This system, known as the open pallet pool, is managed by EPAL and its licensed partners.

The EPAL system ensures quality and uniformity through strict manufacturing and repair standards. Pallets are inspected and marked with the EPAL logo to verify compliance. This standardization significantly reduces logistical costs and environmental impact by promoting reuse and repair rather than single-use or disposal. EPAL pallets are an integral part of the European supply chain, contributing to efficient and sustainable goods movement.
