Dumai

Dumai is a coastal city in Riau Province, Indonesia, located on the eastern coast of Sumatra along the Strait of Malacca. It functions as a major urban and economic center in the region and is known for its port facilities that support international and domestic trade.

The city grew as a port and industrial hub in the 20th century, with development tied to the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries in nearby areas. Road connections link Dumai to Pekanbaru and other parts of Sumatra, including access via the Trans-Sumatra corridor, and the city is served by Dumai Airport (Pinang Kampai) for domestic air travel.
