Duikpakken
Duikpakken, also known as diving suits, are garments worn to provide thermal insulation and protection during underwater activities. They come in two main categories: wetsuits and drysuits. Wetsuits trap a thin layer of water between the skin and the suit, which the body warms, while drysuits keep the wearer completely dry and use insulating undergarments. Wetsuits are commonly made of neoprene and are widely used in recreational diving and snorkeling in temperate to cool waters. Drysuits are typically used in cold or deep water and can be made from materials such as vulcanized rubber or laminated fabrics; they are sealed at the neck, wrists, and ankles and use a buoyancy control device or separate inflation system to adjust buoyancy.
Wetsuits are available in various thicknesses, measured in millimeters, with common options including 2–3 mm for
Drysuits come in different designs, including front-entry and back-entry models, and rely on watertight seals at
Duikpakken are used by recreational divers, spearfishers, and professionals, depending on water temperature, depth, and activity
