Dugattyúkat

Dugattyúkat, often translated as pistons, are essential components in reciprocating engines and pumps. They are cylindrical in shape and move back and forth within a cylinder. The primary function of a piston in an engine is to transfer the force generated by the expanding combustion gases to the crankshaft, which in turn converts this linear motion into rotational motion. In a pump, the piston's movement creates a pressure differential that draws fluid into the cylinder and then expels it.

The design of a dugattyú is crucial for its performance and efficiency. They are typically made from materials like aluminum alloys or cast iron, chosen for their strength, heat resistance, and low friction properties. Pistons are often equipped with piston rings, which seal the gap between the piston and the cylinder wall. These rings prevent combustion gases from leaking past the piston (blow-by) and also help to control the lubrication of the cylinder.

The movement of the dugattyú is driven by various forces. In an internal combustion engine, this force comes from the ignition of fuel-air mixture, pushing the piston down. In a pump, the force is externally applied, often by an electric motor or an engine, to move the piston and facilitate fluid transfer.
