Donskoy

Donskoy is a Russian adjective and surname derived from the Don River region, meaning “of the Don.” The term is associated with the Don Cossacks and with people, places, or things connected to the Don area. In Russian, the feminine form is Donskaya and the neuter form Donskoye.

As a personal name, Donskoy is used as a surname; notable figures include Dmitry Donskoy (1350–1389), Grand Prince of Moscow renowned for his leadership against the Golden Horde, and Evgeny Donskoy (born 1990), a Russian professional tennis player.
