Domstolsstyrelsen
Domstolsstyrelsen was a Swedish government agency responsible for the administration and support of the judiciary. It operated under the Ministry of Justice and Equality and oversaw the non-judicial functions of the court system, including budgeting and financial management, personnel and payroll, information technology and case-management systems, procurement and facilities, and statistical reporting. The agency aimed to create uniform procedures and efficient operations across Sweden's courts, from district courts to the Supreme Court, and to provide strategic planning and coordination for court reform efforts. It collaborated with court boards, judges, prosecutors, and other government agencies to implement policy and improve access to justice. In the course of reforms of the Swedish judiciary, Domstolsstyrelsen's responsibilities were reorganized into the modern Swedish Courts Administration (Domstolsverket) and related bodies. The agency's work contributed to creating centralized services, standardization of processes, and shared IT platforms for the court network. It is remembered as part of the modernization of Sweden's judicial administration.
