Dommere

Dommere is a small rural municipality in the fictional region of Northmark. It lies in the Dommere Valley along the Dommere River, with surrounding farmland and forests. The population is about 1,100, resulting in low population density. The locality is connected by a regional road network and an hourly bus service to nearby towns.

Dommere originated as a 12th-century hamlet and received market rights in 1256. It was fortified in the 16th century and rebuilt after a major fire in 1603. The town developed as a center for dairy farming and grain production in the 18th–19th centuries, later integrating modern agriculture and light manufacturing.

The local economy relies on agriculture, timber, and small manufacturing, with growing tourism focused on countryside walks and heritage sites. Public services include a primary school, a secondary program in nearby towns, and a volunteer fire department.

Key landmarks include Dommere Church, a Gothic structure dating to the 15th century, and the Old Mill by the river. The annual Harvest Festival features markets, music, and demonstrations of local crafts.

Governance is provided by a nine-member municipal council within the Nordmark Province. The council handles local planning, schools, and utilities, while regional authorities manage broader services.
