Dominantparty
A dominant-party system is a form of party system where one political party consistently wins elections and holds power over a prolonged period, even though other parties are legally permitted to exist and compete. The dominant party is not necessarily a "ruling party" in the sense of a single-party state, as opposition parties do exist and can participate in elections and legislative processes. However, the dominant party's electoral success is so consistent and substantial that it effectively monopolizes political power.
The dominance of a particular party can arise from various factors. These can include strong public support
While the dominant party holds power, the presence of opposition parties provides a degree of democratic competition.
