Dobijate

Dobijate is a settlement situated in the eastern part of the Republic of Macedonia within the administrative boundaries of the Makedonski Brod municipality. The village lies at an elevation of approximately 320 metres above sea level and is positioned around 9 kilometres southeast of the municipal centre. Its coordinates are roughly 41.3333° N latitude and 21.4667° E longitude, placing it in the Skopska Crna River valley.

According to the 2002 national census, Dobijate had a population of 452 residents, a figure that has remained relatively stable over recent decades. The majority of inhabitants belong to the Macedonian ethnic group, with a minority of ethnic Turks constituting less than five percent of the population. The local economy is predominantly based on small‑scale agriculture, livestock breeding, and the cultivation of cereals and legumes, which continue to be the principal economic activities of the surrounding area. Some families also engage in migrating to larger cities for seasonal employment.

A notable feature of Dobijate is the 19th‑century St. George Church, an example of traditional Orthodox ecclesiastical architecture. The church, which houses several frescoes, serves as a cultural hub for the village's community and attracts visitors during the annual Feast of St. George. In addition, the village is home to a small community centre that hosts cultural events, traditional celebrations, and serves as a venue for local meetings and gatherings.
