Ditjen

Ditjen, short for Direktorat Jenderal, is a top-level administrative unit within Indonesian ministries and certain government bodies. A Ditjen is responsible for coordinating and regulating policy within a specific sector, such as taxation, customs, transportation, or education. Each Ditjen is led by a Director General (Dirjen), who is appointed by the minister and reports to the minister. The Dirjen supervises a network of directorates and regional offices, and is tasked with policy formulation, program implementation, standard setting, licensing and enforcement, as well as budget management within its area of responsibility.
