The term fuses the English word disorder with the Hungarian suffix -ként, meaning "as" or "in the capacity of." It is not an official medical diagnosis; rather it appears in theoretical writings, art discourse, and critical commentary to signal a deliberate focus on chaos, contingency, or non-normative structures.

In philosophy and cultural theory, Disorderként can denote a methodological stance that foregrounds irregularity, fragmentation, and resistance to totalizing order. In clinical or mental health contexts, the term is rarely used as a diagnostic category; when it appears, it is usually metaphorical, describing a coping orientation rather than a formal label.

In art and literature, Disorderként is used to describe works that disrupt traditional narratives, timelines, or hierarchies; performances or installations that embrace unpredictability; and design practices that valorize disorder as a productive force.
