Directoryitems

Directoryitems refers to the individual entries or elements found within a directory, which is a fundamental organizational unit in computer file systems. These items can be broadly categorized into two types: files and subdirectories. A file is a collection of data, such as a document, image, or program, that is stored and managed by the operating system. A subdirectory, also known as a folder, is itself a directory that contains other directoryitems, allowing for hierarchical organization and the structuring of data into a tree-like format.

When a user or an application interacts with a directory, they are essentially viewing and manipulating a list of these directoryitems. Each item typically has a unique name within its parent directory, along with associated metadata.
