The choice of medication depends on the type of diabetes, individual patient factors, and treatment goals. Blood glucose monitoring is crucial to assess the effectiveness of these medications and to adjust dosages as needed. Lifestyle modifications, including diet and exercise, are almost always recommended alongside medication for effective diabetes management.
