Dhadak

Dhadak is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions in collaboration with Zee Studios. It is a remake of the Marathi film Sairat (2016) written and directed by Nagraj Manjule. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in their acting debuts. The story follows Paro and Madhukar, young lovers from different social backgrounds who meet in a college town. Their romance faces opposition from families and society, leading the couple to elope and confront the consequences of caste and class in rural Maharashtra. The narrative culminates in a tragedy that challenges the couple's choices and the reactions of their communities.
