Deweyi

Deweyi is a fictional coastal town and municipality in the country of Sera. It lies on a crescent-shaped bay bordered by low hills and serves as a regional fishing hub. The climate is mild tropical savanna, with a wet season May–October.

The population is about 3,200 as of 2020. Most residents are the Deweyi people who speak Deweyian, a language in the River-Land group; many are bilingual in the national language. The economy centers on small-scale fishing, aquaculture, agriculture, crafts, and a growing tourism sector centered on the harbor and beaches.

History: Founded in the late 17th century by fishing families, it developed as a trading post in the 18th and 19th centuries. It gained municipal status in 1982 and has since expanded services such as schooling and road improvements.

Culture: The Deweyi Festival celebrates harvest season with music, dance, and crafts. Local cuisine emphasizes seafood and coconut. Traditional houses use wood frames and palm thatch.

Governance: Deweyi has a nine-member municipal council led by a mayor and is part of the Sera Provincial Assembly.
