DevanagariZiffern refers to the numerical digits used in the Devanagari script, which is the writing system primarily associated with languages such as Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi, Nepali, and others spoken in South Asia. The Devanagari script is one of the most widely used writing systems in the Indian subcontinent and is known for its elegant, cursive style.

The digits in Devanagari, known as Devanagari numerals or DevanagariZiffern, are distinct from the international Arabic numerals (0–9) commonly used today. Historically, these numerals evolved from ancient Indian mathematical and astronomical texts, where they were used alongside the Devanagari script. The system consists of ten symbols, each representing a unique digit from zero to nine. These symbols are derived from the Devanagari alphabet but are distinct in form, often resembling stylized versions of letters or abstract shapes.

Devanagari numerals are still used in various contexts, particularly in traditional and religious texts, as well as in some modern applications such as handwritten documents, calligraphy, and certain types of printing. They are also employed in regional banking, accounting, and cultural publications to maintain a connection with heritage. While less common in everyday digital communication, they remain an important part of South Asian linguistic and cultural identity.

The numerals are written from left to right, following the same directional flow as the Devanagari script. Each digit has a unique shape, with some resembling the Devanagari letters for "eka" (१, one), "do" (२, two), and so on, up to "nau" (९, nine), while zero is represented by a distinct symbol (०). The system reflects the rich history of Indian mathematics and its influence on global numeral development.
