Depolayan

Depolayan is a Turkish word formed from the verb depolamak (to store) with the present participle suffix -an. It functions as an attributive adjective meaning “storing” or as a noun phrase meaning “the one who stores.” The suffix -an marks the doer of the action, producing an agent noun or an adjectival sense.

In usage, depolayan can modify a noun: depolayan cihazlar (devices that store), depolayan kişiler (people who store). It can also appear predicatively: Bu sistem depolayan bir yapıya sahiptir (This system has a storing structure). The related noun depolama means storage or the act of storing, while depolanan means “being stored.”

Depolayan is common in technical language, particularly in data management, inventory, and logistics, but it appears in ordinary Turkish as well. It should not be confused with saklayan, which is a more general verb meaning “to keep” rather than specifically “to store.”
