Denalis

Denalis is a term that may refer to several topics connected with Denali in Alaska.

Denali, the mountain, is the highest peak in North America, located in the Alaska Range of south-central Alaska. It rises about 20,310 feet (6,190 meters) above sea level and is renowned for its massive, glaciated summit. The name Denali, meaning “the tall one” in the Ahtna language, is the official name of the peak, replacing the former name Mount McKinley.

The Denali National Park and Preserve surrounds the mountain and preserves a vast, largely wild landscape of tundra, forests, glaciers, and rugged peaks. Established in 1917 as McKinley National Park and renamed Denali in 1980, the protected area covers approximately 6 million acres (about 24,000 square kilometers). It is home to large mammals such as grizzly bears, caribou, moose, and wolves, as well as numerous bird species. The park is a major destination for hiking, mountaineering, and science.

Denalis may also be used to refer informally to multiple people or things associated with the Denali name, but there are no widely recognized public figures with this spelling in standard reference sources.
