Darien

Darien, or Darién, is a toponym used for several places in the Americas. The name is most closely associated with the Darién region and province on the Isthmus of Panama, but has also been adopted by communities in the United States and elsewhere.

In Panama, Darién Province lies in the eastern part of the country, along both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. It contains Darién National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest protected areas in Central America. The Darién Gap, a dense rainforest region on the border with Colombia, forms a natural break in the Pan-American Highway and is notable for difficult terrain and limited infrastructure.

Darien, Connecticut, is a town in Fairfield County on Long Island Sound, United States. It is a primarily residential community known for its historic town center and commuter links to the New York metropolitan area.

Darien, Georgia, is a small coastal city in McIntosh County, United States, near the Altamaha River estuary.

Darien, Illinois, is a village in DuPage County, United States, within the Chicago metropolitan area.
