Daimler
Daimler is a German automotive name associated with Gottlieb Daimler, a pioneer of the internal combustion engine, and with a vehicle group whose modern lineage traces back to the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG). DMG, founded in 1890 in Cannstatt by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, produced early engines for land and sea transport. In 1901, DMG delivered the Mercedes 35 HP, a model that helped establish the Mercedes name as a premium brand.
In 1926, DMG merged with Benz & Cie to form Daimler-Benz AG, uniting the Daimler and Mercedes-Benz
