A DSLAM, or Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer, is a network device located at a telephone exchange or a remote terminal that aggregates multiple subscriber DSL connections into a single uplink to the service provider’s backbone network. Each subscriber line from the customer premises connects to the DSLAM, which terminates the DSL signal, multiplexes traffic, and forwards it toward the core network.
