DSCOVRs
DSCOVR stands for the Deep Space Climate Observatory. It is a NASA satellite mission that serves a dual purpose: space weather monitoring and Earth observation. Launched in 2015, DSCOVR orbits the Sun at the L1 Lagrange point, a gravitationally stable position between the Earth and the Sun. This unique vantage point allows DSCOVR to provide the earliest possible warning of impending solar storms.
The primary mission objective is to monitor the solar wind and geomagnetic activity. By continuously measuring
In addition to its space weather role, DSCOVR also carries instruments to observe the Earth. Its Earth
