Czechoslovakborn

Czechoslovakborn denotes a person born in the former state of Czechoslovakia, a Central European country that existed from 1918 to 1992. It comprised the Czech lands (Bohemia and Moravia) and Slovakia. The term is used in biographical notes to indicate place of birth prior to the dissolution.

Following World War I, Czechoslovakia emerged from the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was a multilingual constitutional state with populations of Czechs, Slovaks, and minorities such as Germans and Hungarians. The country peacefully dissolved in 1992, yielding the Czech Republic and Slovakia on January 1, 1993.
