Cytophagaceae

Cytophagaceae is a family of bacteria belonging to the phylum Bacteroidetes. Organisms within this family are Gram-negative and typically rod-shaped. A defining characteristic of many Cytophagaceae is their ability to move via gliding motility, a form of locomotion that does not involve flagella.
